Improve your freezer's efficiency by keeping it as full as possible. If this isn't possible then make up bags of ice to fill up the empty spaces. Just make sure you keep a 1" open space on each side of the interior for better air exchange.

I save water in washed and cleaned used juice and milk containers - we should always be prepared for any disaster and having frozen water in the freezer uses up the space as well as being useful if the water was cut off or when floods contaminate the water supply - also if the power switched off, the frozen water containers would help keep the other food cold longer and it wouldn't 'spoil' either.
Thanks for the improved way to add some bulk cold and be prepared with extra water too.
