On the AARP website there is a column about a man who received fake bills in a legitimate transaction. When he went to purchase gas he was informed that his $100.00 bills were fakes. Consequently, there was no recourse for him to redeem the fake bills so he was out $800.00. His story can be read in its entirety here.
